All rucking contests around ground and boundry throw in/ball ups:

1. At all times the ball shall be thrown up, only one from each team to contest the ruck.Unless the umpire has called play on, involvement of a third or susequent player shall result in a free kick awarded against that player.

2.A free kick is to be awarded against any ruckmen who raises thier knee or leg against his opponent when contesting the ruck.Contact dose not need to be made.

3.At centre bounces the white line (or imaginary line) shall be used. One ruckman from each team shall approach the throw up from opposite sides of the white line.

4.If no boundary umpires appointed, central umpire will throw up the ball 10 metres in from where the ball went out. 

Marking

1.The player in front of the pack competing for a mark is to be given every protection and opportunity to take the mark. Any unnecessary or deliberate interference by an opponent player/s in attempting to mark or prevent the player in front of the pack from taking the mark shall result in a kick being awarded to the player in front of the pack. The interference could take the form of a knee or boot being put into a players body. 

Holding The Ball / Barging

The player in possession of the ball is to be given a most reasonable time and every opportunity to dispose of the ball.

1. A player attempting to barge or charge through a tackle can do so only if he has not had prior opportunity to dispose of the ball failing to do shall result in a free kick to the tackling player.

2. When a player is fairly bumped in the side and the ball falls from his hands - the call is play on. Likewise when a player is either knocked on the arm causing him to drop the ball or has his arm pinned to his side causing him to drop the ball - play on. 

Player Protection/Rough Play

1.All players making the ball their objective are to be given the utmost protection by the umpire.

2.Any contact other than a legal side bump or legal tackle (between knee and shoulder) to be deemed unduly rough play and a free kick to be awarded.

3.Slinging players to the ground whether the player is in possession of the ball or not is illegal.

4.Late contact, in any form, when the ball has been disposed of , will result in a relayed free kick being paid down the field.

5.Chopping with a clenched fist will result in a free kick being awarded.

6.A player can only be tackled front on by being grabbed with both hands, any attempt to bump or hit a player front on will result in a free kick awarded. 

7. No shirtfronts or slinging.Also any rough play or conduct where the force used is unreasonable shall be penalised, i.e. late contact, chopping of hands ect.

50 Metre Penalty

1.A 50 metre penalty shall apply in all instances. 

Kick in from a point:

1.Goal umpire flags need to be waved before the ball is allowed to be brought back into play.

Advantage

Advantage will be payed in all instances. 

Scoring

To be on the following basis: 

Behind         --   Kicked by any type of kick score 1 point.

Goal             --   Kicked by punt kick or kicked of the ground score 6 points.

Supergoal    --   1.A Supergoal can only be scored from outside a 20m arc in a play on situation or if a mark or free kick is awarded outside the 20m arc.To avoid doubt, should the marl be set inside the 20m arc irrespective of where the kick is taken (inside or outside the 20m arc) a Supergoal cannot be taken.

2. The only exception is if a free kick or mark is awarded outside the 20m arc, but in applying a 50m penalty sees the mark now set inside the 20m arc and the player elects to kick a drop kick a Supergoal is awarded.

3.Should there be no 20m arc marked on the ground the judgementis solely up to the field umpire. Any doubt arising about the validity of the supergoal the field umpire shall adjudicate, or should the field and goal umpire be unsighted then a six (6) point goal shall be awarded.

Supergoal must be kicked from 20 metres out. Supergoal to be signalled by Goal umpire by waving 1 white flag and 1 coloured flag. To be added to scorecard as 2 goals = 12 points.  

Umpires Coloured Cards

GREEN CARD       - off for the remainder of that quarter plus the next, can be replaced.

YELLOW CARD    - off for remainder of the game, can be replaced.

RED CARD          - OFF for the remainder of the match, can be replaced and will be placed on report. The M.A.F.Q Management Committee will review report and hand down any futher action/suspension. 

Order Off Rule

Players can be ordered off for the following indiscretions. 

VERBAL ABUSE - Green Card

verbal abuse or dissension to any person on field (ie. Umpire, opposition player or team mate)

or any self abuse using abusive language. 

UNDULY ROUGH PLAY - Yellow Card

Unduly Rough Play (shirt front, charge, or any unnecessary tackle or challenge likely to cause injury) 

FIGHTING - Red Card

Striking by fist, elbow or foot. 

Second offence of Green Card will automatically attract a Red Card.

Receiving of a Green Card and Yellow Card in the same game attracts a Red Card.

Any player who receives a Red Card is automatically suspended for 1 additional Round

Plus a referral to the M.A.F.Q Management Committee for further action.

Judicial Proceedings

Should any umpire submit a written report following the send off of a player, the M.A.F.Q Management Committee will meet to decide any additional penalty to be imposed.
